Supporting Pasadena’s youth.

Dear Neighbor,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

As your Councilmember, I have worked hard to protect our neighborhoods and provide quality services for Pasadena residents while supporting the highest level of financial responsibility with your tax dollars.

My priorities include:

Safe Neighborhoods: Ensuring the safety of Pasadena residents is my top priority. I have worked closely with our Police Department to stop proliferation of illegal marijuana shops. I support the efforts of the police with their proactive approach to preventing crime in the neighborhoods by having “Curbside Chats” with residents.

Quality Schools: I supported Measures I and J that provides $7 million plus dollars to Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD). As a former board member and current supporter of the Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF), I strongly support PEF goals for excellence in public schools that benefit from enrichment programs, teacher grants and field trips. Many PUSD kids go to the Boys and Girls Club after school that gives homework help and character building opportunities. I am a long time supporter and sponsor of the Boys and Girls Club fundraiser that offers free annual memberships. My wife Joanne, a retired public school teacher shares my advocacy of quality education. “These students are the hope and future of our community.”

Engaging Residents: Regular district meetings, city action updates and responsive follow-up to neighborhood concerns to keep residents informed. I care deeply about getting more residents into Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) offered annually to train and educate residents for emergency preparedness.

As a 38-year Pasadena resident and former president of a neighborhood association, I would be honored to earn your vote and continue serving as your voice on the City Council.

Please contact me personally at 626-379-6549 or via email at genomas@aol.com if you have questions or concerns to share. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Gene Masuda
Pasadena City Councilmember, District 4
